Будет преувеличением, однако, говорить о каком-либо консенсусе касательно хронологических границ модернизма. Нижняя граница может сдвигаться до творчества Ш. Бодлера в 1860‑е годы. Верхняя граница еще более подвижна и может охватывать какой-то отрезок послевоенного периода. Я, впрочем, солидарен с теми исследователями, которые ограничивают историю модернизма началом Второй мировой войны (см. [Livak 2018: 27]).
